Photography Workshops
Learning photography is a never-ending process. From acquiring a new camera and going out for a shoot for the first time, the experiences, learning and, of course, the photographs ensure that this as a hobby, gets really addictive. To guide you along your photography journey, we at NSPD have designed multiple workshops specifically targeted at your needs. Shorter, but equally rigorous as our other courses, these workshops are a fantastic opportunity for aspiring photographers to learn the fundamental skills and techniques required for digital photography while deciding if photography is a career path they wish to pursue.
Intro to Digital Photography workshop is aimed for rank beginners, who have either recently bought a camera and would like to venture into the realm of photography or as first steps for hobbyist photographers wanting to take photographs as professionals. The workshop caters to those who seek more intensive instruction that includes practical training, theory and critique sessions. However the course will be of little use to casual shooters who use mobile phone cameras or aim and shoot camera.
Understanding digital photography. Understanding the camera and its components. Difference between analog & digital photography. Shooting your camera on Manual Mode and learning to recognize and use exposure compensations. Exposing for all tonalities: grey, black, and white. Understanding histograms and using them effectively.
Composition principles for photography, Creative use of light and composition, how to take aesthetically pleasing photographs. Seeking the best perspective, texture, color, point of view etc. Advanced understanding of light. Handling difficult light situations. A very constructive critique session which will include technical and aesthetic aspects of photographs.

Studio Portrait workshop teaches how to see and communicate through an image, a story, a thought, or an emotion. The program is especially designed as an exhaustive, step-by-step study in the art of modelling, portrait and fashion photography inside a studio. The aim of the programme is to gradually develop confidence in a commercial photographer, studio owner, model portfolio maker and even a wedding photographer in handling modelling assignments, photo sessions and portfolios for an independent shoot.

Digital photography is more than just capturing images in the camera; it is also about editing, enhancing and showcasing them. Designed specifically for digital photographers, Digital Editing workshop offers powerful non-destructive editing techniques to import, sort, organize and enhance Raw and Jpeg images easily. This workshops will be all you need to get started with basic image improvement, as well as a leg up to understanding the core capabilities of your editing programs, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
In depth hands on training on the practical usage of Digital Imaging software. Linking your dslr with your computer. Capturing images using digital softwares. Analysing photographs for flaws and areas of improvement. Working with raw and compressed image format. Importing photographs using light room’s import panel. Organizing and cataloging photographs in lightroom.
Working with the develop module. Global image correction techniques: Cropping, lens correction, white balance and tonal changes, noise reduction and sharpening, hue and saturation and curves panel. Local adjustment tools available in lightroom.
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop. Productively utilizing the photoshop environment, including the use of layers, panels, channels, paths and the toolbox. Methods of creating and saving selections. Creating masks. Applying painting, retouching, airbrushing, filters and adjustment methods. Introduction to advanced theories including masking, alpha channel and clipping path.
