In an effort to fill the vacuum in high-level education in visual arts in India, Northeastern School of Photography & Design brings its diploma courses for those opting to take photography as their career.
Powered by a vastly experienced faculty of professional photographers and the latest state-of-the-art teaching techniques, the course will combine a sound understanding of the fundamentals and theory of photography with hands-on practical assignments in real-time situations that will prepare students for the real, ever-changing professional world, thus making a unique and most comprehensive learning programs available in the country.
Video Production is a filmmaking course designed to be a hands-on video production environment. Students will be introduced to the stages of film production, which will take them from an original concept through to a completed film. Students will learn the vocabulary of cinema-production, compositional rules in cinematography and film
direction, and traditional shot techniques, This course will focus on short films as an art form.
Students will learn aspects of a variety of film genres including documentary, comic variety, narrative, dialogues, commercials, silent film, music video, stop motion, etc. Students will write their own short scripts, which they will cast, direct, shoot on DSLRs, and edit on digital editing software. Students will present their films for class discussion and analysis. The course will conclude with students screening their films.

SCREENPLAY WRITING
Creating concepts for shorts, ad films, documentary and feature films. Script and screenplay writing. Converting a concept to story, story to a script and script to final screenplay. Format and techniques of screen play writing. Story boarding.
PRODUCTION
Working with production team. Understanding roles of cinematographer, Director and production managers. Shooting the projects. Working with different camera rigs. Casting and acting overview. Creating mood of shot with lighting. Understanding lighting requirements for film. Working with constant lights. Working on production of a group short film from scratch: Lights, Camera and action.
SHOOTING AND EDITING VIDEO
Broader context for understanding how videos are produced (shot, captured, edited, and output). Learning the basics of how directors set up and frame shots, exploring the impact of framing and camera angle, height, and distance on the viewers' perception of the sequence. Shooting live videos for editing projects. Key terms that video editors use as well as creative concepts for your projects. The aesthetics of editing for; long fiction narrative, short fiction narrative, documentaries, advertisements and music videos.

Prepping for post production phase. Video editing and compositing. Sound editing. Working with post production applications. Giving the projects its finishing touches.
DIGITAL EDITING ENVIRONMENT
Linear editing vs Non-Linear editing, analysed to give you a context for today's editing environment. The transition between analog and digital media. Overview of NLE applications as per industry standards. Different stages in a digital editor's workflow.
EDITING APPLICATIONS
Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro as a primary editing application. Creating a new project in premiere pro. In depth study of different digital video formats and their pros and cons. Understanding the interface. Creating custom editing interface as per the project needs. In-depth study of the tool sets and their uses. Online and offline video editing techniques in premier. Working with transitions and cuts. Indepth study of video and audio effects. Adding graphics and titles to a video. Exporting projects between Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe after effects. Video export settings. Understanding the interface of Adobe media encoder. Export formats and resolutions.
CONTINUITY, CUTS AND TRANSITIONS
Knowledge of continuity as a necessity for an Editor. Weaving visually distinct shots into a seamless continuum of time and space. Using well-known codes and conventions of pictorial language. Understanding cuts. Deep stylistic understanding of the film medium. Understanding transitions and how to use them effectively.
MONTAGES
Understand the entire gamut of creative choices available in Montage Cutting. Exercises designed to teach Metric Montage, Rhythmic Montage, Tonal Montage, Over - Tonal Montage, Intellectual Montage. Montage styles; American Montage style and French Montage style.
SOUND EDITING AND DESIGN
Technical and aesthetical requirements of sound track design and mixing Understanding all four components of audio track design - ambient sound, sound effects, and music independently. The quantitative aspects of sound are discussed—volume, loudness, pitch, and timbre. Examining how the syncing and fidelity of sound affects the viewing experience.

Videography is an art of transferring the ideas, emotion, and events on the reel. It is a filmmaking course which includes various concept like preproduction, production and post-production of a film. student will get a chance to learn script writing, short-films, advertisement ,camera techniques, casting and acting, video editing, composition, digital and
sound editing.
It will help the student to expand horizon. Students will write their own script, direct and shoot the film on DLSR. By using diverse range of digital editing software they will further edit the film. At the end of the course each student is require to submit his film which will be present and analysed in class.
